I’m May, a Pilates teacher helping you move with strength and balance.
Hi, I’m May Martin, a nationally certified Classical Pilates instructor based in Sandy Springs, Georgia. My Pilates journey began over eight years ago, inspired by a passion for movement and a desire to help others feel stronger and more balanced in their bodies.
After graduating from my certification program, I gained experience teaching in several studios, where I worked with clients in both group settings and one-on-one sessions. Those experiences allowed me to refine my teaching approach, adapt to different needs, and truly see how Pilates can transform lives.
“Pilates is the art of looking at your body and
knowing exactly how to train it.”
“Working with May has completely transformed my strength and confidence. Her attention to detail and genuine care make every session exceptional.”
Her instruction is always enjoyable!

“I recently moved to Atlanta from out-of-state. Being new to the area I was worried that I might have a difficult time finding a new Pilates studio. During my search I stumbled across Pilates by May and I decided to give her a call. I am so happy I did because May is amazing! She is not just a Pilates instructor going through the same flow day in day out, she’s an educated teacher. In 5 months I’ve learned more about classical Pilates than I did when I started practicing Pilates 5 years ago. May is very compassionate, she never pushes me beyond my limits and always makes me feel confident when trying new things. To top it all off she’s become one of my friends and I am so lucky to have her in my life.”
Her instruction is always enjoyable!

“I have been searching for a good Pilates studio that’s not overly commercial and true to classical for the past 11 years since moving to Atlanta. I’ve finally found it. I’ve been doing Pilates twice a week since January with May and she is fantastic. Her knowledge of Pilates is extensive and she has a very good understanding of the body. I believe this combination helps her to be an effective teacher and she’shelped me to progress back to intermediate level quite quickly, and to start thinking of moving to Advanced. Her home studio is fantastic – clean and with the full array of Pilates equipment. I also appreciate her flexibility to accommodate my schedule since I work and cannot do Pilates in the middle of the day. She also has a good sense of humor, which keeps sessions light and fun and distracts from the pain your abs might be feeling. I’m truly glad I found her and am just sad.”
She accommodates my schedule.

“I have been seeing May for several weeks, twice a week, and I’m very impressed by her level of knowledge in anatomy and function of the body. She pays close attention to the correct execution of each exercise and applies necessary corrections. Her studio is fully equipped with high quality reformer, cadillac, chair and other apparatus. May is a kind and fun person to be around, and I’m glad I’ve chosen her to learn pilates the right way.”
Her instruction is always enjoyable!

My Story
Origins & Personal Journey
My own journey to Pilates started with scoliosis. Years of discomfort, back pain, and limited movement pushed me to seek a modality that would not just “work out” the body, but heal, restore, and strengthen from the inside out. Pilates did that for me — it adjusted my posture, strengthened my core, and gave me back control over how my body moves in daily life.
Professional Growth
As I deepened my training, I pursued certifications in Anatomy, Kinesiology, Clinical Pilates, and specialized for back, hip, and shoulder conditions. These credentials allowed me to serve clients with injuries or chronic conditions more safely and effectively.
Working in a physical therapy setting in Georgia broadened my perspective: I taught clients recovering from injury, and learned to integrate rehabilitative principles with Pilates. These experiences refined my approach and clarified my mission — to help clients live strong, pain-free lives.
